A Natural, Effective Way to Address Hypertension

Today, nearly one in three American adults has high blood pressure—a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. But there are natural, effective ways to address hypertension. Recently, the American Heart Association issued a statement saying that the Transcendental Meditation technique is the only meditation practice that has been consistently shown to lower blood pressure.

Here’s how it works: TM® practice reduces activation of the sympathetic nervous system, which in turn reduces stress hormones and helps normalize the functioning of the cardiovascular system, including blood pressure control.
Published research confirms that it works. That’s why the National Institutes of Health has granted more than $20 million to study the TM technique’s benefits in preventing and treating heart disease, hypertension, and stroke.
